This summer the Far West Nordic coaching staff will be providing several out-of-area collegiate student-athletes with the opportunity to come to Truckee to dry land train. This pilot program will benefit both the student-athletes, as they take advantage of the numerous training options in the area, as well as the local Far West Nordic juniors. Our local junior racers will benefit from the exposure to the focused training regimens that have helped to develop these outstanding young adult athletes into collegiate level racers.
We need your help to provide housing for these student-athletes. We are currently looking for housing opportunities for about 5 (five) to 6 (six) individuals and are calling upon the Far West Nordic Community to help us place these young adults in homes around the Truckee area. These student-athletes will be in the Truckee area from the first full week of June until the last full week in August. They are all highly motivated athletes as well as exceptional students.
If you are interested in hosting one or more of these young athletes for the upcoming summer months please contact Martin Benes at the phone number or email address below.
Julie Riggs, current Far West Nordic Secretary, and Senior/Farm Team committee member, is the local Truckee contact. She can also be reached at the contact information below.
