tdxc_valentine2012_chaney-rRoger Chaney, Team Manager

I am a product of the Far West Nordic program from a few years ago, somewhere around 30 years.  I started cross country skiing in the meadow at Squaw Valley where my first coaches were Chuck Lyda and Lyle Nelson.  I have never forgotten the inspiration from those two as well as the support from the Nordic community as a whole throughout my time as a junior.  I went off to college at Montana State University to pursue my goal of becoming a better and faster skier.  I became a better skier, and a little faster, but I also realized what it took to become a great competitor.  Although my college racing played out quietly, my love for Nordic skiing never waned.  I have been involved with the Nordic industry for the past ten years as a technical representative for Rossignol and a sales representative and technical team member for Toko.  I have also been managing a regional team of Master skiers, formally known as Truckee XC.  I am excited to work with and continue supporting the efforts of the Far West Elite Team.  This is a highly motivated, talented, and aware group of skiers who have not lost sight of the value of support, whether on the giving or receiving end of it.  You can reach Roger at rossi_nordic@yahoo.com.
