Franz Bernstein

Franz comes to Far West from Germany via the University of Vermont. After spending 4 years on the German Junior National Team, he attended UVM, where he was a four-year member of the ski team. Recently he received his MBA from UVM as well. He qualified for NCAA National Championships each of his four years in college. His top results were a win and a second place at the 2010 NCAA Championships. He also placed 3rd at the NCAA Championships in 2012.

Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Patrick attended Middlebury College in Vermont. A two-time member of the US World Junior Team, he spent last season racing with the Gold Team in Sun Valley, Idaho. After winning 7 Eastern College Carnivals, his past season was his strongest to date. Top results included a 5th place at US Nationals, 1st at the Aspen SuperTour, and 8th Place at the American Birkebeiner (Top-American).

Spencer returns to the Elite Team for his second year. Orignially from Maine, and a graduate of Bowdoin College, Spencer was part of the inaugural summer college program and returned to California after graduation. Last year he put in a big volume push and looks to build of off that results-wise this year. Top results from last year were 2nd place at The Great Ski Race, 11th Aspen SuperTour, 22nd Boulder Mountain Tour, and 21st in the SuperTour Finals Prologue.

2011-2012 season
11th 20km classic at Eastern Regional Collegiate Championships.
34th 50km skate at Distance Nationals.
40th Supertour Finals skate Prologue.
42nd U.S. Senior Nationals 30km classic
8th at the Squaw Mountain Run in both 2011 and 2012.

Originally from Boise, Idaho and a graduate of Colby College, Wyatt is entering his 3rd season on the Elite Team, Wyatt will again be contender in any distance race. Having recently completed his Masters’ Thesis, he will be putting in some quality hours this fall. Last season he had some impressive results both locally and on the national level. Top races included 16th in the SuperTour Finals Hill Climb, 1st in the Billy Dutton, 4th in The Great Ski Race, 49th at the American Birkebeiner, and overall winner of the Fischer Cup.

Holly returns to the Elite Team for the second straight year. Originally from Maine, Holly attended Williams College where she posted strong results on the Eastern circuit. Holly first came to Far West as part of the 2011 Summer College Program and return last season as a coach and racer. Last season she posted some strong results, including her best ever finishes at US Nationals. Locally, her top races included a win at the Tahoe Rim Tour, 4th Woman at The Great Ski Race, and an overall win in the Fischer Cup standings.
