Open to all Far West juniors age 12-19. This is our best camp for those of you who have never been to a Far West Camp or those of you who want a little extra push and motivation. Super fun and challenging right here in our own beautiful backyard, the west shore of Lake Tahoe. Camp consists of hiking, kayaking, general water mayhem, rollerskiing, technique, and Fun.

Coaches will be Ben Grasseschi, Mary Ellen Benier, and Stefan Benier.

Event starts 10am by US Bank Mon July 4th. 1 mile gravity fed fun event for all ages & abilities. Run through the crowds waiting for the parade. Fundraiser for Auburn Ski Club Nordic Programs.

The June Lake Camp is a Far West classic, the longest-running Nordic training camp in the division. It is both super fun and extremely motivating for just about any Junior athlete, whether you’re an experienced racer or an up-and-coming young competitor. Based out of  (where else?) beautiful June Lake in the Eastern Sierra, activities will include some challenging & scenic runs, great roller skiing on spectacular roads, and also an incredible hike to the top of a 13,000+ ft. peak, where you will truly feel “on top of the world.” Combined with traditional fun games, swimming, and great camaraderie, the June Lake Camp is the one must-do training session of the summer. 

Open to all Far West juniors age 13-19. A super fun and motivating camp for the ‘old hands” to the ‘newbies’. Camp consists of amazing hiking, rollerskiing, sightseeing, and technique-ing.

Coaches will be Nancy Fiddler, Mark Nadell, Austin Meng, and more.

For the past 31 years, on the first Saturday of August, hundreds runners and hikers have made the annual pilgrimage to the top of Squaw Valley to enjoy a great workout with stunning views of Lake Tahoe and the High Sierra.

Starting at the base of Squaw Valley USA (6200’) the course climbs the 3.6 mile mountain run to High Camp (8200’) where awards, raffle, music, light refreshments & beer are provided.

Participants can choose to RUN or take a more leisurely pace and HIKE, or Nordic walk (hike with poles). For the less energetic – let the cable car do the 2000 foot elevation gain & join our knowledgeable guides for the beautiful FLOWER WALK on easy rolling terrain

Open to all Far West Juniors who have qualified for Junior Nationals. We have a friendly rivalry and shared training and technique experiences with Pacific Northwest Junior skiers. A super fun and challenging camp geared towards getting you ready for the hard training in the fall that is necessary to make you the best skier you can be. Camp consists of running, hiking, general water mayhem, rollerskiing, World Cup Soccer match, technique, and Fun; not necessarily in that order.

Coaches will be Ben Grasseschi, Ben Husaby, plus others.

The Auburn Ski Club will host the 2012 USBA Summer Biathlon National Championships on Donner Summit,California August 23-26 2012. This will be the 25th annual summer biathlon championships, which were first contested in 1988. 

They will also host a Novice race (no experience required) on Saturday August 25th after the Sprint Race.

  Please note parking is not available at the start at west end Beach use the ride along Donner lake as part of your warm up.
• Pre Reg racers will be randomized & start times will be published at registration
• New Reg will be assigned start times when they register

START:

• Starts will be at 30 Sec intervals starting at 10am
• Your warm up is your ride to the start
  • on Donner Pass Rd or
  • on The South side of the Lake – the traffic is less there than on the North – there is a paved path all around the Lake now if you go through the State Park on the East End

FINISH:

• Will be at Sugar Bowl Academy
• We will have water jugs to refill your bottles with water or energy drink

SAFETY:

• The road will not be closed – So ride smart & be safe !
• Please stay close to the right side of the road & only pass if safe to do so.
• Any rider who crosses the central line will be disqualified
• To minimize impact on the road please wait till all riders are done climbing (11am ?) to bike back down. You can ride along old 40 & around Serene Lakes for a cool down – or even go all the way to Cisco if you wish

Starting and finishing at West End Beach – Donner Lake.

• 10am – Kids “Mashed potato Mile” race starts.
• 10:30am – 7 mile race starts

Entry fees are kept low at just

• $15 for adults, $10 for 18 & under, $5 for mashed potato mile if you pre register

How does a week of full time ski immersion sound? 7 days of on-snow training, technique, drills, and fun with Far West’s best coaches and our nation’s best skiers- the US Ski Team will be there as well as other divisions and clubs. Industry representatives and new product demos. A festive atmosphere. Join us to kick off your season in grand style.
Camp open to all Far West Juniors J1 and older. *J2′s need to talk to a coach and get his/her permission before signing up. This is an intensive camp with two x’s a day training and full skiing immersion. West Yellowstone is a long way from home in many ways…

Farm Team  skiers Beth Taylor and Spencer Eusden, as well as juniors Katrin Larusson and Patrick McElravey, will be representing Far West at the Bozeman SuperTour. The races on December 1st and 2nd will be a Classic Sprint and a Classic 10/15km. We are excited for these skiers and this opportunity to race another SuperTour (besides West Yellowstone) out West.

This full-tilt racing trip is open to Far West JO Qualified Juniors, J1 (please talk to your coach for confirmation) or older, plus all Far West Seniors. It promises top-notch ski racing and competition with the best skiers in the country. This trip is the ideal proving ground for athletes to see how they stack up with the best in the US. It is also the event where athletes qualify for the USST J1 Scandinavian Trip, and for the USST World Juniors (age 18-19) or U-23 (age 20-23) Championships.
