September 2013 – February 2014
Keep Calm – Winter is coming. While we watch NOAA for news of the first BIG snow the ASC Training Center is hosting an open house, Sat. October 26th. We’re inviting all members, guests and those interested in learning about ASC Training Center and our programs. It’ll be a full morning of activities:
9am to 11am –Bring your outgrown equipment of all kinds for a club equipment swap and sell with others. The long room will be set aside for all to buy, sell and make “deals”.
9am to 10:30 am – Coaches and staff will be available to talk about 2013-14 programs, equipment, etc. We’ll have handout materials and showing videos.
For families ready to turn in program registration forms, or individuals joining and getting XC trail passes staff in be in the office to help get you through the paper work and issue membership cards and XC passes.
The biggest Junior Cross Country event in North America is returning to the ASC Training Center and Far West . This annual National Championships will draw 400+ of the very best 14-19 year old skiers for a week of hard fought competition on the challenging ASC Training Center courses. Through a tough qualifying process each of the 10 USSA divisions will bring their very best to the start line at ASCTC. This is truly a National Championships in every sense and the proving grounds for future Olympians. Our Far West Juniors can look forward to a home turf advantage and a spotlight in the community.
The first step for ASCTC and the Far West is to form an organizing committee. ASCTC is inviting anyone with interest to attend an Oct. 27th formation gathering. There will be a presentation of the different leadership roles we need to fill and what it takes to host this event.
With the successful JN’s of 2005 and 2009 we’ve set the bar high, but there is a reason we’re often called the “best race crew in the west”. We hope you’ll join us and the Nordic community in a leadership role on organizing committee or competition crew. It’ll be a rewarding life experience you’ll never forget.
Come see by our information table at the Oct. 26th Far West Auction. For more information contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 530-426-3313
