We will leave on Wednesday afternoon after school (athletes will be responsible for their own dinner on the road), a quick stay-over in eastern Nevada, and then head to Midway, Utah to check out the trails. Friday and Saturday will feature racing against the finest nordic skiers in the entire Western United States. Saturday afternoon is reserved for Tubing or Crater-Swimming, or just hanging out. Return is first-thing Sunday morning, back in Truckee by early evening.
Whether you’re an elite Junior Olympian or a young, first-time (serious) racer, this is an important trip for all ages of junior skiers (13 and over).
Coaches will be Ben, Jeff, Ambrose, Mark, Holly.
This year these races are two of the Far West JNQs.

Donny Roth has spent nine years searching remote corners of Chile looking for the perfect southern hemisphere backcountry skiing location. 2012 brought below average snowfall thus creating a last-second change of plans as two friends come down from the U.S. Pulling together some unusual resources, three men head into the cordillera, where very few people have traveled in the winter. For a week, the team explores unique terrain, is blown away by incredible sunsets and condors flying overhead, and makes first descents everyday. As amazing as the trip was, the story has just begun. Is this the future of backcountry skiing in South America?
Doors open at 7pm for the Alpenglow Film Series.
