AUBURN SKI CLUB SUMMER JUNIOR NORDIC TRAINING

Tahoe City Summer Junior Nordic Training
In partnership with the Tahoe Cross Country – The Auburn Ski Club is again coordinating a Junior Development Training Team for the summer  based in Tahoe City. Workouts combine active fun in the outdoors with ski specific training and technique improvement. We train through hiking, running, roller-skiing, ski specific drills, strength & fun activities in the outdoors.  Coaches will include Kara LaPoint, Ben Grasseschi, and others.

The team will train 3 times a week, Tuesdays 3-5pm, Thursdays 3-5pm & Saturdays 9-noon, from June 28th til August 28th.
Please note – a minimum of 15 sign ups by June 1st is required for this training group to happen – so sign up now & tell your friends! (full refunds will be issued if the program doesn’t run – or you can choose to join the Truckee based program.)

Summer Junior Biathlon Training
NEW Summer Junior Biathlon Program coached by Olympic Biathlete Glenn Jobe.
For young skiers committed to biathlon training this summer and competing in local and regional biathlon competition next winter. Rifles, ammunition, coaching provided. Training focuses on shooting skills range procedure. This program is not a ski training program – participants are strongly encourage to participate in ASC’s year round Comp & Devo Teams.

ASC Junior Nordic Teams
Devo Team: A fun approach to ski training. Workouts combine active fun in the outdoors with ski specific training and
technique improvement. We train through hiking, running, strength, rollerskiing & fun activities in the outdoors. This program is well known for its focus on fitness, fun, technique and team adventures.

Comp Team: A serious approach to ski training. Expectation is that members of the Competition Team have their sights set on placing well at Junior Olympics, not just qualifying for the Regional Far West Team. Workouts can be long and hard – building up through the summer to 3hrs+ runs (such as Sugar Bowl to Squaw) and roller-ski workouts (such as Cisco Grove to Donner Summit).
