2011 TED BEAUCHAMP SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED

The Far West Junior Committee is pleased to announce the 2011 Ted Beauchamp Scholarship winner, Justin Ondry.
Congratulations Justin!
Justin is very deserving of this award as he epitomizes the late Ted Beauchamp in many ways. He is very dedicated to the lifetime sport of xc skiing. Justin trains year-round with the Auburn Ski Club Nordic Team and has done so for many years. He has put in a ton of hours on rollerskis, running shoes, and on snow. Never one to complain he often says, after a hard workout, when his peers are barely catching their breath; “that was Fun.” And; he means it.
Like a Swiss train, Justin always shows up to practice and appointments on time. And like an Italian aunt, Justin is always able and willing to help/volunteer at races, loading the ski team van, clean up after the races, getting his hands wet, cold, and dirty, staying on ’til he is the last volunteer standing.
As a senior at Truckee High School, Justin is an accomplished student as well. Always helping others with class assignments and homework, Justin is a benevolent tutor. Being well rounded is another attribute that Ted Beauchamp prized.
And, certainly not least, being tall and skinny, Justin eats; ALOT. Having this scholarship money will give him some recourse to filling each of his hollow legs while he competes at the 2011 Junior Nationals this year in Minneapolis, Minnesota, March 5-13.
Good Luck Justin!  You deserve it.
And, Thank You Ted Beauchamp Family; Sue and James, for your support of Far West Nordic Juniors!
