Missing poles after Snowshoe Thompson at Auburn ski club

A pair of black Swix carbon 145cm poles were mistakenly taken from the back stairs at Auburn ski club on Sunday Dec 22nd, after the Snowshoe Thompson.
A pair of longer Swix poles (yellow stripes) were left behind instead.
The longer poles were left with a note behind the desk at ASC.

If you find the black Swix 145 cm poles please contact
Mike Seiffert.

Thank you & Happy Holidays!

First JNQs in The Books

asc-sprints-2013_johnson-patrickIt was a beautiful weekend for the first 2 JNQs of the season, the ASC Freestyle Sprints and the Snowshoe Thompson Classic. Juniors need to compete in four out of seven qualifiers and have qualifying times in three events, including at least one skate and one classic event! Looks like a very strong start to the season!

ESNSA Gets Far West Nordic Grant

esnsaFar West Nordic’s Board of Directors approved a $500 grant for Eastern Sierra Nordic Ski Association. ESNSA is working to build a sustainable Nordic program for the Mammoth area’s youth. It will be working with the local high school and middle school as well as Mammoth Mountain Ski Area to offer a comp team, after several years of not having a program.

Far West Nordic members in the Truckee/Tahoe area, we need you help welcoming and accommodating our junior members from the Mammoth area. Please use our Housing Board if you have housing you can offer to Mammoth juniors and their families who are racing in the December JNQs, ASC Freestyle Sprints on December 21st, and the Snowshoe Thompson Classic on December 22nd.
Please visit the December JNQs Housing Board and let us know what accommodations you have to offer!

Far West Nordic Wax Policy

Far West Nordic is no longer employing a head coach, and as such is not able to provide wax support at JNQ races. Waxing for JNQ races is either done by the individual racers and their families, or by their team/club coaches. Race wax recommendations are available on the Race Schedule page. Most team/club coaches are willing to help unaffiliated racers with wax advice and application, but only after they have taken care of the racers they are responsible for. It’s advisable to make these arrangements in advance if needed.
