2013 Masters World Cup

2013 Masters World CupFollowing a super successful trip to the 2012 Master World Cup in Oberwiesenthal, Germany, the next venue for MWC in 2013 will be Asiago, Italy.  The event is slated for mid February, and it is anticipated that a huge number of USA skiers will be planning to attend.  American Cross Country Skiers (AXCS) members will be the first to receive details of the trip, travel package and reserved hotel rooms at several hotels.  All USA participants must go through AXCS to attend this event as each country has its own representative, and all race entries will once again go through John Downing, Director of AXCS.  More details will be forthcoming in the AXCS Spring Digest, and members get first dibs on reservations, so it is highly recommended that you have current membership – sign-up is available on-line http://xcskiworld.com/axcs/axcs.htm.  It is anticipated that even with an ample supply of reserved hotel space, it is possible we will fill our USA contingent hotel reservations by mid-summer.  Plan ahead so you will not be disappointed.  Go to xcskiworld.com MWC section for more details.

Asiago WMC 2013 hotel reservations are now available to the AXCS membership, and as expected this venue is proving to be extremely popular, and already in the first five days, 41 hotel rooms have been reserved. If you have your copy of the XC World Digest, Spring issue, you may want to review the information and make a reservation quickly as it is expected that the space will sell out.  If you are not a member (and you need to be to participate in this event as the Director of AXCS is our sole USA Representative), go to AXCS website: http://xcskiworld.com/axcs/axcs.htm to join and get more information about this exciting trip.  Dont’ delay as you might be disappointed, and although summer is right around the corner, next ski season will be here before we know it!

Masters Challenge Update

“Two more races left in the Master’s challenge!  April 1st is the Mammoth Marathon (see the website for qualifying distances) and April 7th is the Tahoe Rim Tour.   With a three race minimum, if you’ve done 1 race, you are still eligible for awards.   Also, if you renewed your Far West membership late and I didn’t get you on this list, let me know and I’ll get you added after Mammoth.  Enjoy the Spring snow!”
